Positron emission tomography – computed tomography, or a PET CT scan, is a type of nuclear medicine imaging that uses small amounts of radioactive material to determine the severity of a variety of diseases. A PET CT scan can pinpoint molecular activity within the body that could indicate an issue before that issue begins to cause changes in anatomy.
